Fingolfin and a Horse

Date: June 8, 2004
Medium: CGI (Paint Shop Pro and a mouse)
Comment: This picture took much longer to complete than I had anticipated, and the cause of it is that animal. I've drawn Fingolfin rather less golden-haired than I used to, since a careful reading indicates that he probably was not blonde. He's garbed in clothing that he can ride in, but before he sets out on this journey, he and his horse posed for a portrait...

Now, some caveats about that horse.

  1. I hadn't drawn a horse in ages, and we're talking 8 years here.
  2. I had never drawn a horse on the computer.
  3. The model was a plastic model horse.

Actually, I don't think it's too bad for a first try. I'm very pleased with Fingolfin. The background is a little weak, but on the whole I'm pleased with the picture.
